Our Mental Health Matters have worked in partnership with both employment companies and local councils to offer an apprenticeship program that trains a worker to become skilled in a particular trade. Our Apprenticeship schemes cater to school leavers or young people between the ages of 16 to 24, as a potential alternative to going to sixth form or university.
Apprenticeships combine hands-on work with classroom learning to train the apprentice. As apprenticeships are considered full-time employment, as the apprentice is learning, they are also applying the lessons through working. From these experienced professionals, apprentices acquire important skills that are relevant to an industry. Alongside practical skills, apprentices gain a nationally certified qualification.
